LG G6 Specification | Tecky-wiki

Tecky-wiki: LG Electronics is not expected to launch their new flagship smartphone at MWC 2018 but we do have rumours about its next flagship. A new report reveals that LG’s upcoming flagship will not be part of its famed G series.

Codenamed ‘Judy’, a report by popular tipster Evan Blass on Venture Beat reveals that LG’s new flagship smartphone will not arrive anytime before June.

LG announced that it was going to take a break from its usual smartphone launch cycle but is yet to mention whether it will be launching any flagships this year.

According to the report, Blass believes that the new smartphone will sport a fresh design and feature in a number of colour schemes.

‘Judy’ is expected to come with a 6.1-inch 18:9 display which is significantly larger than the 5.7-inch display on the G6 last year. The company is also expected to feature a new type of display for the device called MLCD+. Blass says that this panel will be capable of 800-nit brightness while consuming 35 percent less power in comparison to conventional LCD panels.

As far as internals go, Judy is expected to get the top of the line, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of onboard storage. On the camera front, we get dual 16 MP sensors with front 1.6 aperture on the back while we do not know much about the front camera yet.

The smartphone is also expected to be IP 68 water and dust resistant and is expected to feature support for HDR10.

We do not have image leaks yet, but this surely should get LG fans all pumped up for the summer.(Tecky-wiki)

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users suffering from overheating and battery drain issues after February security update

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners are complaining about overheating and battery drain issues ever since the February security patch was released, earlier this month.

Users have started complaining on Google’s Pixel User forums as well as on Reddit. This comes after customers have already dealt with other issues such as software bugs, display and audio issues. Post the February security patch update, the phones are expected to be heating up after mild usage and battery life is also suffering.

Talking about the battery life issue, user noobsquared said on Reddit, “Battery is terrible since the latest update. Phone is getting pretty warm just using reddit anymore. January update broke all calling for me, had to factory reset.”

User Sudarshan Sarang spoke about the issue on the Pixel User Community, saying that the phone was heating to up to 45-50 degrees Celcius and the fact that the screen on time had seen a 30 percent drop since the latest update. This issue for him is not being resolved even after formatting the phone twice.

“My battery should not be at 40 percent from less than an hour of screen on time with no new apps at all,” said braidenis on Reddit.

For some users such as Jw224, said that they haven’t noticed a difference in battery life, but phone does get warm. For others like 2Cainz, the heat isn’t noticeable, but battery life seems to have taken a hit.

A quick glance through the forums definitely highlights the battery drain and heating issues.

We have yet to come across Google’s official response in the matter.
